One of those days

Thursday was one of those days for me-you know the type of day where you are super busy and everyone chooses to stupid as well. I ended the day with hot fudge sundae, fries, and after Nathan got home The West Wing and him. It helped me breathe and then the day was over.

What do you do on your days that are difficult? Are you an comfort eater (like me) or do you turn to other things.

Bad Villains make for Bad TV

I am watching The Chase right now and super frustrated with the villain of the week. He's a guy who was sent away to prison and the police auctioned off his cars, now he is going after the people who bought his cars and is killing them. We know that he is looking for something but still to kill people who bought his cars from a police auction it just isn't that great of a storyline. (he was looking for cash)

Also they completely underused Spike (with an Irish accent) in last week's episode of Hawaii 5-0, he was in it for a total of like 8 minutes! I would have watched Hawaii 5-0 all season if he had been the big bad. Now I might just tune in here and there.

Smallville

I don't like Lex 2.0-hold on let's see if he dies in this episode...ok he died so I only didn't have to like him for a little while. Not sure how I feel about Lex 2.5 (the soldier in the fire was a nice touch of his evilness)

Chloe just traded herself for Ollie-this makes me sad.

I do like Pa Kent and miss him and Ma.

Jor-El is stupid and Clark should never listen to him.

Nathan doesn't understand how I can't keep track of all of Superman's villians-they run together in my mind.

I have to go now my cat is stalking my meatloaf and I would like to finish eating it.

Wednesday tv

And on to Wednesday tv viewing....I have to say not having a dvr is making my viewing schedule difficult this year. Tonight only 3 days in I was ready to call comcast and have my cable hooked back up. I didn't but was so close. Tonight has been a hulu night- watching Running Wilde, Warehouse 13, finishing The Chase, and right now Castle. I'm still angry with the way Castle ended last season so they are going to have to do some pretty great episodes this season to get me back.

Warehouse 13-I'm sad that HG is evil and intrigued with the thought that Claudia could replace Mrs.F. I feel that it's to soon for Pete to be falling in love. The Chase was pretty decent and the bad guy was truly scary. I will watch again although it is kinda an In Plain Sight wanna be. Running Wilde could be fun, I might save this one up and watch a few in a row.

Tomorrow night is Bones and Grey's Anatomy-I am super excited for the Christina/Owen wedding and not so much for Booth's new girlfriend. I was a late comer to Bones but I fell quick for them. I am so frustrated with the wiil they or won't they crap. Let's see if I make it to the end of this season.

Night Two of TV!

The Event was ok-I will give it till midseason break unless it gets really stupid and then I give up. Tonight I am watching NCIS and NCIS: LA. NCIS was pretty good thankfully resolving the Gibbs Dad might die story line quickly. I have to say I am not sure how I feel about having the brother shot his sister, this makes Gibbs seem very very cold. I did enjoy Director Vance telling the brother that if he threatens his agents then he will hurt him. I'm on the fence about Director Vance so this won me over a little more. I'm a little bothered by how revenge bent the sister was due to the fact that her dad killed Gibbs wife and daughter. It's not like Gibbs just shot him down for the fun of it. We also were given The Unwritten Rule.

This season on NCIS I am hoping for more character development. I hear rumor that Tony is going to be upset with Gibbs for killing the dad and this will cause him to grow more. Ziva's dad is on his way back for some reason and we see that Tony's dad called him for help. Will this be the season of dads? This episode did end with Gibbs helping his Dad reset up his store.

Currently I am watching NCIS: LA while I type this and it has my attention but not fully-so far a decent episode but I have no love for Deeks. I pretty much watch this show for Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J and things blowing up. I mean who doesn't love pretty boys and explosives? Kenzie is very pretty and I do enjoy her and Hetty (who is Nathan's reason for watching the show). I will write about Deeks again at the end of the season and see if my feelings change for him.

Tomorrow night I have Undercovers (new show!) and Criminal Minds (I can't watch this one to much due to how graphic and scary it is).

New TV!

This is the first tv season in 9 years that I haven't had a dvr and I only have basic cable-which means no recording/pausing tv. I will have to choose what to watch each night live (commercials! the horror!) and what to try and catch the next day.

In some cases it depends on the network (cw (this website is horrid for watching things, multiple commercials and slow connection speeds. Which means good-bye to One Tree Hill, Hellcats, Life Unexpected and Nikita.) and cbs are not on hulu) and in a few cases it depends on the show. For example NCIS always wins out over anything else as well as Bones. This means no Big Bang Theory till the next day however. The other factor will be based on what I have heard about the episode. I love spoilers and spend the a lot of time on my favorite website (ew.com, tvguide.com, eonline.com) seeing what people have to tell me.

Tonight How I Met Your Mother won out over Chuck (although I am watching the last half hour) and The Event won out over Mike and Molly and lone star. As for the 10 o clock hour we will be heading to bed so that means Castle, Hawaii five-0 and Chase will have to wait until tomorrow.

I enjoyed How I Met Your Mother-we got a little closer to Ted's wife and I choose to believe that the wedding we saw was Barney's and Robin's. I feel the same way that Lily does about being able to have a baby-what if I can't?

Tomorrow I will weigh in on what I think of The Event but for now my cat is laying on wrist looking at me with big eyes that say love me!

I'm always playing catch up!

I just don't know how people keep up with updating things-life gets so busy! In the past 18 days, I have gone to Oregon for the weekend (played my first D & D game), helped out at a wedding (with an crazy great photobooth), started a class at my work and graduated a class at my work, baked a cake, made 6 layer rainbow jello!, watched quite a bit of tv (finally shows are coming back!), wrote a few letters, made a massive to do list, finally uploaded my most recent batch of photos, took a walk around the block just cause, finished my pen pal swap (only 3 more to go...), made three pairs of earrings, and put my suitcase away. Today I am off to help my friend move to her new house!

Here's new photos for you to enjoy!

TARDIS Door

Last week I happened to be looking at the door to our pantry and all of a sudden I went "It could be the door to the TARDIS." Nathan looked at me and said "sure hun, whatever you want." (I'm sure thinking that my desire to paint the door into a TARDIS would go away) I went on the hunt for the perfect shade of blue paint the next day (I found it at Freddy's). Here are the photos of the TARDIS coming to life. How do you like it?

The World of Books

Have you ever read a book that took you out of the world you were in? You knew people where around you and things were going on but you couldn't focus you were so wrapped up in their world. I have a few times and each time it happens it's so hard to refocus on the real world. I was there today with a series of books called Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare. I had the first two books from the library this morning and was so sucked in that even after reading the plot online I had to go and buy the 3rd book. The interesting part of it to me is that I don't know if I liked them or not but that I had to finish them. Until they were finished I couldn't think of anything else. Have you had a book do this to you?

8.9.10

This man took a photo every day for 18 years until he died. What started out as an accident turned into a photo journal of his life. Today I am 27 and a half years old-to some just starting out in my life and to others (like my 16 year old sister) I am all grown up. To me I am 5 and want to color or two and I want my blanket and then I am 18 and shy and 10 and fearless. I want to record my life for me or others or no one but I want a record that I was here. Starting today I am going to attempt to take a photo each day of my life. In this day of digital photography it's so easy to take hundreds of photos in a few minutes and that is a little like what day to day life feels like. So much in so quick a time-weather, mail, texts, twitter, tumblr, love, heartache, sex, drugs, life is here on the internet, on tv, on...on...on. Part of my goal is to stop, breathe, and pay attention to at least that one moment I take that photo. Even though I will be using a digital camera and keeping a blog instead of film and a journal each photo will be the only one I take for the photo of the day. If it's blurry or I find something I like better later in the day I won't substitute it. Some days it will be something that means something-other days it will be just a photo I snapped (I know at some point there will be an photo taken at 11:59pm of some meaningless item).

Long Time...No Write

Hey All~

It's been a while due to crazy last minute I have to finish this stuff. I promise I won't be away so long again. I finished KC's quilt! It ended up being 10ft long by 7 1/2ft wide! I also finished the items for my craft swap partner. An awesome Doctor Who clock, notecards, and a bag. She in turn sent me a bag, some costars, and a box decorated like a TV. Now I am going to try and make this laptop case from Sew Mama Sew. We are heading to Oregon over Labor Day and I want to be able to use it for the trip.

Not much more to say tonight-I'm a little tired and bored which is a deadly combination with a redhead. I'm going to go now and have some waffles while waiting for the new episode of Warehouse 13 to download.

Yours till the kitchen sinks...

Straight Lines

I am working on KC's quilt and having the hardest time with straight lines-I pin them and fold them back and they look straight and then I sew them and they are straight no longer. It is driving me nuts. I feel like I could apply this to my life as well, I start out on one path and see the straight line ahead but as I walk it I start to curve, you don't necessarily see it till you look back on it. Unlike fabric that you can take out and try again, most of the time you have to keep the path you created.

Holiday Weekend!

What are your plans for the holiday weekend? I am crafting! My goal is to make 5 more bags for my swap partner-along with starting work on the clock and tv table. I am also trying to figure out how to make charms for each Doctor. My other plan is to finish more of KC's quilt. This week I have sewed two rows together and I am pleased to report that it is working. It's a little slow going due to the brocade fabric I am using but over all it's working.

On Sunday I will be celebrating the 4th! Ever since I was a little girl we have spent the 4th at my grandparents beach property. My entire extended family comes out and it's wonderful. When I was younger I loved coloring shells and sand with smoke bombs, as I got older I was trying to keep the boys from shooting fireworks at each other. Then in my teenage years I spent time writing in my journal by the light of the fire/fireworks and burning the edges of the pages. (I once had a crush on a boy who was born on the 4th of July.) Now older still and back to coloring shells and sand with smoke bombs-teaching it to the younger ones and still trying to keep the boys from shooting fireworks at each other. Everyone brings all kinds of yummy food-fried chicken, corn on the cob, watermelon, baked beans, and crazy amounts of desserts along with S'mores makings. We have a proper bonfire as soon as the sun starts to set to roast the marshmallows. At the end of the night I was always tired, salty, sandy, sunburned, and happy. This year I will be trying a photo recipe that I found on Me Ra's blog (merakoh.com) on how to take better fireworks photos. I will post what happens.

I hope that you have a wonderful 4th of July and are safe and happy with the ones you love.

Opening Credits

I watch quite a bit of tv and the one thing I have always enjoyed about shows are the opening credits. Over the years most shows have cut there credits down to just a title and I miss the days of full scores with photos of the cast members. Each new season waiting to see what they have updated. I like later in the season as well when I start to be able to place the clips in the opening credits.

Here are my favorite opening credits for tv shows:

Firefly-I love the song as well as the photos and font. I always watch this one the entire way through.

Psych-This is one of my favorite theme songs, I watch this one the whole way through because they change it often and you don't know what you are going to see.

The West Wing-I love the music to this and like all the photos.

Gilmore Girls-Once again love the theme song.

Monk-Genius opening theme song always makes me smile.

Old School ER-I grew up with ER and couldn't believe it when they changed the music. I loved the full version with Mark sliding in his chair and Bennet fist punching in the hallway.

Kim Possible-Call me, beep me if you want to reach me...

Roswell-Perfect theme song, enjoyed the alien writing for the aliens names.

Doctor Who-I had this turned into a ringtone, it makes me so happy.

Smallville-Another theme song that fits the show.

Grey's Anatomy-I like how this show took away the opening credits and just do the title with the sound. I feel that it fits so well.

Sabrina, the Teenage Witch-This show was always fun for the different outfits she would wear. Later after she went to college it wasn't as fun.

Clarissa Explains it All-A very early show that I enjoyed the credits of. I liked the way it melded into each other.

NCIS, CSI, NCIS, LA, Bones-all the same type of show, all with music that makes you want to dance.

The O.C.-I was really only a fan of the first season, but I love the opening credits.

Degrassi-The early seasons after the old seasons, I love that they made references to the old series but keep it fresh. I like the theme song as well.

I am sure there are many more but I can't think of them right now because it is late and I am getting sleepy. Do you have a favorite?

That's all for now...

NCIS and Tea

I am procrastinating right now. I should be going to bed or working on my craft swap but instead I am watching Season 5 (About Face) of NCIS and drinking yummy tea. Nathan is doing the hulu in the kitchen for his cat and making me laugh.

My craft swap is going to be really cool-my partner is from Australia and we have almost no shows in common other than Doctor Who. She likes old Doctor and I am a 10th Doctor girl. (What are your thoughts on 11th Doctor.) However I am watching some of her other shows thanks to youtube and they are kinda fun. Here are the items I am planning for her:

a tv tray with three of her favorite shows
a clock with images from Doctor Who
two boxes with various images on them

other items I would like to make are;
a bag
coasters
pillowcases
placemats

We shall see how much time I have due to the fact that I am a procrastinator. I am also working on a quilt for a friend of mine that has been in the making for 2 years. I am printing out squares with photos of all her favorite tv characters on them and then adding borders of blue and brown brocade around them. I have finally finished the layout of all the sheets (a total of 82) and have started printing them. I am really excited about this project but nervous about how it will all turn out. I will post photos as soon as I have it started.

Now I should go and head for bed before it gets much later.
